Lebanon is, unfortunately, a very complicated place. The political and military instability of the country (and its neighbors) impacts everything in society, hostage to a suffering that seems to have no end.

And, of course, the same happens with rallies. The sport has been held in the country with fits and starts.

The first event held in the country was the Lebanon rally, which, considering the existing difficulties, continues, with many interruptions, to be organized to this day. At the national championship level, the same irregularity.

Highlights include Roger Feghali (three-time national champion) and Jean Pierre Nasrallah (two-time national champion). In addition to the Lebanon rally, it is important to mention two other relevant events held in the country: the Cedres rally (held for the first time in 1971, with a 21-year hiatus, returning in 1992) and the Printemps (since 1987).

O Líbano é um lugar, infelizmente, muito complicado. A instabilidade politico-militar do país (e vizinhos) impacta em tudo na sociedade, refém de um sofrimento que parece não ter fim.

E, claro, tambem acontece com os rallys. Aos trancos e barrancos a modalidade vem sendo realizada no país.

A primeira prova realizada no país foi o rally do Líbano que, levando em conta as dificuldade existentes, continua, com muitas interrupções, a ser organizado até os dias atuais. A nivel de campeonato nacional, a mesma irregularidade. Destaque para Roger Feghali (tricampeão nacional) e Jean Pierre Nasrallah (bicampeão nacional). Além do rally do Líbano é importante mencionar outras duas provas relevantes realizadas no país: os rallie Cedres (disputado pela 1ª vez em 1971, tendo um hiato de 21 anos, retornando em 1992) e o Printemps (desde 1987)

Rallies in Malaysia are a growing sport and began their development in the last century, at the beginning of the 1980s, more precisely in 1981, when the first rally was organized, the Eagle 500 (January 16-18), won by the duo Cheokmeng-George Sia, in a Ford Escort RS 1800.

Two years later, the national championship began and since then, with few 'mistakes', it has been organized regularly to this day. Races and drivers. Highlights include the Malaysia and Perlis rallies, regulars in teh Asia-Pacific championship, as well the Malaysia rally’s eternal bid for the WRC, wich was incomprehensibly reject by the FIA. Regarding drivers, it is important to mention the names of Tunku Mudzaffar (first national champion), Yin Swan Khong and the brilliant Karanjit Singh (three-time Asia-Pacific champion, PWRC champion and four-time national champion). Another mention that I consider to be a precedent is that of George Sia, a highly regarded navigator and tireless worker for the development of rallies in the country.

Modadlidade em ascendência, os rallies na Malasia iniciaram a sua trajetórioa no século passado, logo no inicio da década de 1980, mais precisamente no ano de 1981 quando foi organizado o primeiro rally, o Eagle 500 (de 16 a 18 de janeiro), vencido pela dupla Cheokmeng-George Sia, com um Ford Escort RS 1800.

2 anos depois, teve incio o campeonato nacional e desde então, e com poucas ‘falhas’ é organizado regularmente até os dias atuais.

Provas e pilotos. Destaques para os rallies da Malásia e o Perlis, ‘habitués’ do campeonato Asia-Pacifico, além da eterna candidatura do rally Malasia ao WRC, incompreensivelmente recusada pela FIA. Sobre pilotos, é importante mencionar os nomes de Tunku Mudzaffar (primeiro campeão nacional), Yin Swan Khong e o brilhante Karanjit Singh (Tri campeão Asia-Pacifico, Campeão do PWRC e tetra campeão nacional). Outra menção que julgo precedente é a de George Sia, navegador altamente conceituado e incansavel trabalhador para o desenvolvimento dos rallies no país.

Rallies in the country began with the famous Carrera Panamericana, held for the first time in the distant year of 1950, more precisely between May 5th and 10th, when 125 cars left Ciudad Juarez towards El Ocota, where 47 cars arrived, with the north american duo Hershel McGriff-Ray Elliot, in an Oldsmobile 88, as the big winners. After that, a few initiatives took place in the late 60s and 70s, with rallies effectively consolidating themselves from the 80s onwards.

The national championship was also established in the 80s and disputed irregularly throughout the 80s and 90s. Highlights include drivers Sergio Gonzales and Gabriel Marin, the main names in the sport throughout the 80s and 90s of the last century.
