With little information (relating to the 20th century) in the Rallymemory archive, it is difficult to carry out a more in-depth analysis of rallies in the country.
The first event (according to the Rallymemory archive) held in the country was the Gran Premio Arica-Santiago, won by Lorenzo Varoli in a Ford, in 1948.
The national championship began in 2002, and in 2019, then in 2023 and 2024, the country had its main event - the Rally Chile (created specifically to integrate the WRC) - included in the world championship.
Drivers? I would initially highlight the pioneering work of José Celsi (also the country's greatest winner of events) for his pArcticipation in the WRC (Argentina) and the South American championship. Other important names are Jorge Martinez, Luis Rosselot and Rolando Bienzobas.
Events? Of course, why not? In addition to the Chile rally, other important events are the Concepcion, La Serena, Pacífico and Puerto Montt rallies, regulars in the South American championship.
Total number of races in the Rallymemory archive: 24

Land of the legendary Bandama rally, which since its first edition (1969) has caught the attention of the entire rally world due to its difficulty (it is still one of the most difficult rallies in the world, if not the most difficult) which caused a great impact, especially the 1972 edition, when no pArcticipant reached the end, leading to the event being held in the WRC from 1977 to 1992, with the main factory teams and the best drivers in the world committed to overcoming the difficult obstacles of the Ivorian event.
The records in the Rallymemory archive point to the 1969 edition of the Bandama rally as the first rally held in the country and the implementation of its championship in 1982.
In relation to the national championship of the thirteen editions held between 1982 and 1998, eight championships were won by drivers from other countries (Lebanon - Samir Assef and Vietnam - Patrick Tauziac) and the other 5 were won by a Franco-Ivorian driver (Alain Ambrosino).
In addition to the drivers already mentioned, it is important to mention that local names such as Gary Chaines, Moriféré Soumaoro, Bakary Fane and Patrice and his son Christophe Servant are names of relevance both at national and continental level.
In relation to the rallies held in the country, in addition to the Bandama, events such as the Boucle du Cacao and Pentecote rallies are known (and recommended) as classic events on the African continent.
Total races in the Rallymemory file: 77
